Company History
Unifi Technologies, EMR solution, Unifi-Med, was developed by a group of physicians, practice managers, industry and technology experts with a single desire: create a web-based EMR solution for the healthcare industry. Together they worked to develop an innovative solution suite built on cloud computing that addressed the unique needs of physician, support staff and patient. This serves as the core of Unifi-Med. An investment team led by Randy Barnes saw the potential in Unifi-Med and purchased Unifi Technologies. Today, Mr. Barnes serves as the company’s COO and has successfully brought Unifi-Med to market.
Mr. Barnes has served in senior management and leadership roles for Fortune 100 companies, small technology firms and technology start-ups for over 25 years. His extensive experience working with cloud based computing solutions for large organizations in the early stages of development, to the development of new types of cloud solutions, has given him expertise in this rapidly growing technology and practical knowledge of its role in the marketplace. Mr. Barnes vision is for Unifi-Med to use cloud computing to enhance healthcare technologies to improve access to information as well as improve the interaction between patient and provider.
Today Unifi Technologies solution, Unifi-Med, is complete with Clinic, Practice Management and Patient Portal solutions and brings a unique approach to EMR. With a true cloud SaaS infrastructure, Unifi-Med, eliminates lengthy installs, is flexible and easy to use, completely subscription based, modular allowing physicians to select what solutions are needed in their practice and most importantly, Unifi-Med allows a practice to work they way they do today, only better. As Mr. Barnes states “It is not what we do, it is how we do it that makes us unique.”
Unifi Technologies continues to install Unifi-Med throughout the United States with Partners nationwide. Unifi is positioned to become the EMR leader in clinic and independent physician practices with expansive growth projections in 2010. Unifi-Med’s interoperability also allows it to communicate with virtually any hospital/ambulatory center based solution on the marketplace.
